Fort d’Emines, established between the villages of Emines and Saint-Marc, is one of nine forts built between 1888 and 1891 around Namur. The forts of the Fortified Position of Namur (PFN) were built at the same time as the twelve forts of Liège (PFL).
“Relatively preserved in the state of 1918, the Fort d’Emines is pleased to present a new exhibition. Twenty-one panels trace the evolution of portable armament, artillery, uniforms of the Belgian Army, fortifications and territorial defence, including the Fortified Position of Namur, from 1914 to 1940.”
