It is being organised as part of Namur Confluent Culture.
Journey into a wonderful world
In a universe imbued with poetry, some fifteen artists from the United States, Quebec, Italy, Turkey, Ukraine, France and Belgium transport you into an imaginary and marvellous world.
These artists draw their inspiration from childhood memories, revealing intimate worlds, playing with textures and light. Using a multi-disciplinary approach, they combine textiles with painting, sculpture, installation and ceramics.
Textile works in a variety of formats and universes
Lieux-Communs, the non-profit organisation behind the exhibition, is showcasing a wide range of artistic backgrounds, practices and techniques.
Some of the textile works are meticulous and very small, while others are monumental and immersive.
The aim is to reach out to a wide audience, including families, art enthusiasts, those with a personal creative practice, tourists, young people and schoolchildren. Workshops and educational activities will be offered throughout the exhibition.
