Originally from Brazil, Afrânio Fonseca trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. He has extensive experience in mosaic work as a teacher, animator and visual artist.
Like Arcimboldo, he creates hybrid works combining objects found in flea markets and pieces of broken crockery. His works have that little touch of surrealism and humor dear to his adopted country.
At the invitation of the Culture department, the artist Afrânio Fonseca will soon exhibit his mosaics, made from recycled materials.
