Celebrating the games practiced in the Middle Ages by Namur boatmen, this event combines sports and folkloric competitions, costumes, music and fights to make it a colorful spectacle.
Since 1974, this tradition has been revived on the Meuse during the Buley nights at La Plante. Each year, the Plantois des Compagnons de Buley and the Jambois des Naiveurs oppose each other. Each team is made up of 4 jousters, 10 paddlers, a drummer and a coxswain. The fight takes place in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finally the final.
The winner of a game is the one who remains last on the platform of the basket or touches the water last.
