Paths Week 14 - 20 October 2024

This event will highlight some of the footpaths on the left bank of the Meuse, marked out this summer to promote active mobility and biodiversity.
Organised in collaboration with Tous à Pied in Wallonia, Trage Wegen in Flanders and the Walk platform in Brussels, the aim of Trails Week is to support and promote small local roads reserved for active modes of transport, such as walking and cycling. These routes, which are essential for both utilitarian and leisure travel, help to preserve the environment and improve citizens’ quality of life.

With this initiative, the City of Namur is responding to a growing demand from its citizens for accessible and safe active mobility networks. By promoting this new network on the left bank of the Meuse, the City of Namur is encouraging the use of active modes of transport on a daily basis, whether for utilitarian or leisure purposes.

Geocaching competition in Malonne

As part of this event, the City of Namur is organising a Geocaching competition, an activity that has become a tradition over the last four years.
This year, the competition will take place in Malonne, on a 6.7-kilometre loop to discover some of the footpaths on the left bank of the Meuse.

Participants will have to locate at least 5 of the 7 caches along the route and then send a selfie of their discovery to the address before 4 November.
The caches are listed on the free Geocaching app as ‘Trails Week – “MALONNE 1” to “MALONNE 7”’.

There are lots of prizes to be won:

Return cable car passes;
Water bottles;
Rechargeable USB wristbands;
Namur CentreVille vouchers worth 10 or 25 euros.
The winners will be chosen by random draw from among all the participants.
