Some of you may remember it: Sylvia Huang once played for the Philharmonic a few years ago in a trio with Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort, winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, and her colleague from the BNO at the time, Anthony Devriendt.
Her atypical career, outside the usual circuits (academies, Royal Conservatories) made her enter as a violinist in one of our best national orchestras at only 18 years old. In 2014, she was engaged by the world-renowned Amsterdam Concertgebouw orchestra. However, she has not forgotten her career as a soloist and chamber musician, with the result we know from the last Queen Elisabeth Competition: the two public prizes (the Prix Musiq’3 as well as the Canvas-Klara Prijs ). Recently, the Union de la Presse Musicale Belge awarded him the Caecilia Prize for Young Musician of the Year 2019. A great opportunity to welcome him together with his pianist partner, Boris Kusnezow (trained in Moscow). They will defend a very varied 19th and 20th century repertoire.
